2023 Wyre Forest District Council election
The 2023 Wyre Forest District Council election took place on 4 May 2023, to elect all 33 members of Wyre Forest District Council in Worcestershire, England. The Conservatives and Labour saw gains, whilst Independents and Liberal Democrats suffered loses. The only Green Party Councillor retained her seat. Independent Health Concern (who had an MP in Dr Richard Taylor between 2001 - 2010) put up candidates in previous elections however, following Health Concern being brought to a close in 2022, Wyre Forest saw a reduction in Independents securing elected positions. Whilst the Conservatives suffered loses throughout the country, Wyre Forest Conservatives saw gains enough to take control of the Council from NOC. Wyre Forest saw a rainbow alliance between 2019 - 2023 called the Progressive Alliance, initially made up of Independents, Independent Community Health Concern, Liberal Democrats, Labour and Green. The Liberal Democrats exited the alliance in around 2020/21. More information can be found on Wyre Forest District Council’s website.
