The election has led to no overall control as no party secured the 30 seats necessary for full control

On the same day as the Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council election, there were also elections for parish councils, including Guisborough Town Council.

The current Redcar and Cleveland Administration is a coalition of the Liberal Democrats and The Independent Group. The groups have shared responsibilities and there is a mixed-party executive.
