It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.
Zeraora was officially revealed on April 9, 2018, on Oha Suta.
Marshadow is the last Pokémon in the Alola Pokédex in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
Biology
Zeraora is a bipedal, feline Pokémon with primarily yellow and black fur. The fur is thinner and black on its lower legs, lower body, upper arms, and face, and is thicker and yellow everywhere else. There is also a zigzagging black stripe on each thigh and two more stripes on each forearm. There are small tufts of light blue fur on its chest and a longer tuft on its forehead. Zeraora also has a single, lightning bolt-shaped blue whisker on each cheek. A long, ponytail-like or tail-like bunch of fur extends from between its shoulders. Zeraora has large ears with black insides and blue eyes. Its forepaws have four clawed fingers and light blue pads, while its hindpaws have only three clawed toes.
Zeraora lacks an electricity-generating organ, so it gathers and stores electricity from outside sources. This Pokémon can create a very powerful magnetic field through the strong electric currents emitted from its paw pads. Using this magnetic field allows it to levitate and move at high speeds while airborne. Zeraora can travel as fast as a lightning strike. Its fur is known to stand on end whenever it is using massive amounts of electricity.[1] Zeraora can tear its opponents apart with its high-voltage claws. Even if the opponent dodges, they still get electrocuted by the flying sparks. Lighting flashes and thunderclaps can occur when Zeraora starts running.
Zeraora is the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Plasma Fists.
In the anime

Zeraora (M21)

Other
Zeraora made its main series debut in Battling the Beast Within!. Dia, a former member of the Ultra Rangers, befriended it at some point prior to the episode's events. He used it to save Ash and Pikachu from Guzzlord. It then battled Pikachu and won. It also appeared in the next episode.

Trivia
- Zeraora is the only Electric-type Mythical Pokémon.
- On April 26, 2018, The Pokémon Company released a special Battle Video for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon version 1.2 that allowed Zeraora to be legitimately used and battled against in-game prior to its official release, using the code
QKUW-WWWW-WWWL-J5TL. - In The Isle of Armor DLC, in order to obtain a Shiny Zeraora, a Dynamax Zeraora was required for one million players to battle, making it the only Mythical Pokémon that could be encountered in a Max Raid Battle.
- In Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us: Zeraora's Story, Zeraora is described as having been born in an explosion caused by a lightning bolt striking the mouth of an erupting volcano.
Origin
Zeraora's feline appearance may take inspiration from cats and tigers. Its Electric type may allude to Kanehekili, the Hawaiian god of thunder. The typing might also reference an oni, a supernatural creature often associated with tiger pelts and lightning; or even a raijū, a creature that is the embodiment of lightning into an animal form, which is sometimes represented as a cat. Based on its swift movement and slicing up of its opponents, it may also draw inspiration from the kamaitachi. Its Shiny coloration may be based on white tigers.
Name origin
Zeraora's name may be inspired by Zeus; a Greek deity associated with lightning, thunder; as well of power, viewed as a 'king' of gods. As Zeraora was introduced in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, it may be worth stressing too; that Ra was an ancient Egyptian sun deity. In Chinese culture, tigers have been associated with courage, ferocity, and Yin energy; which may fit Zeraora's nature. Zeraora may also be a combination of زر zarra (Arabic for to beam/glitter/shine, to encroach upon one's enemy) and 虎 tora (Japanese for tiger) or tora (Faroese for thunder).
