Character
Ryū is a cheerful boy who aims to become a Battrio Master. With his "hot heart", he takes aim to not give up pn his dream. He is friends with Masato.
History
Ryū first appeared in the sandbox of his backyard of the house where he was talking to his friend, Masato. Ryū then ran to a building and challenged Kanto Nankai. Even though Ryū had to deal with a tough challenge since his opponent used the legendary birds, Ryū was able to defeat him in the end with his Chimchar's Ember. After Dr. Yoshimura appeared and introduced the Battrio machine to the public, Manabu Kazuo bragged about his collection of pucks which made Ryū want to challenge him to prove him wrong. Despite Manabu using Pokémon that are bigger than Ryū's, Ryū was able to defeat him with Pikachu. After the match with Manabu was finished, Ryū visited his father at a noodle restaurant where he and his friends ate. From afar, he met Dai Ikemen who commented about his Battrio skills. The two race to the Battrio machine where they challenge each other. As Dai relied on Pokémon with beauty, Ryū used a team with Pokémon in their middle evolutionary form and won.
Ryū went to the machine where he gets rewarded with a Shaymin puck. A challenger named Funji Shishi overheard his and decided to challenge Ryū to a match. Even though Shaymin was newly obtained, Ryū lost to Funji, giving him his first loss in the series. After the loss, Ryū became depressed and Funji became angry at this and told Ryū to get up.
