Information

The second set in the Dash series includes a comparatively larger selection of Grade 5 Pokémon than previous sets, among which are Legendary Pokémon Groudon and Kyogre, available from an eponymous course at the launch of the set. Powerful Grade 5 versions of Pikachu and Charizard were also available on another launch course, the Mega Evolution vs Z-Move Course, which also includes a selection of Grade 4 Pokémon either with access to a Z-Move or with the ability to Mega Evolve. While identical in terms of stats, the two Grade 5 Charizard that could be encountered on this course have different Mega Evolutions. Mythical Pokémon Darkrai and Arceus were later available to players in early November on the Arceus Course.

The Alola Region's Friends Course gave players the opportunity to capture Pokémon from older sets, including Solgaleo and Lunala. This course was initially playable from the launch of the set until October 4, 2017, but this period was later extended to November 17, 2017. The Let's Raise Cosmog! Course, introduced later into the set's duration, offered players the opportunity to capture two different versions of Cosmog, which could eventually evolve into new variants of Solgaleo and Lunala, depending on the sun or moon symbol present on the disk. These Solgaleo and Lunala, as well as the Cosmoem that precedes them, could not be obtained on any course.

For the duration of this set, players with Ga-Olé Passes could purchase a Fighting Spirit Drink Set (Japanese: きあいドリンクセット) for 500 Ga-Olé Medals, which would provide a bonus Fighting Spirit Drink at the start of Get by Battle mode on every occasion. Factoring in the Ga-Olé Pass Bonus and a potential Fighting Spirit Drink obtained normally from Item Chance!, the set could give players a starting Fighting Spirit value of 300%. This special item was only active for 8 days inclusive of the day purchased.

Trainer and Battle Mode was available to challenge from November 16, 2017 and provided 5 new opponents for players to battle. The Trainers included 2 new classes, one of which featured the recurring Trainer Eri, now upgraded from her status as Fledgling Idol to a Popular Idol. A female version of the Senior Trainer class introduced in the last set is also featured in the lineup. The new Battle Leader, Regen, could not be challenged until the other 4 Trainers had been defeated. Promotional Kyogre or Groudon disks could be dispensed for an additional ¥100 following a battle with Regen, with 'WINNER' versions available to those who successfully defeated Regen's team.

Salamence and Metagross were added as Support Pokémon from this set. Players registering a Ga-Olé Pass for the first time would automatically receive Salamence as a Support Pokémon as part of the Pokémon Ga-Olé Welcome Campaign.
