Background
Nicola Sturgeon resigned as First Minister of Scotland and Leader of the Scottish National Party in early 2023 and was succeeded by Humza Yousaf.[1]
Number of seats
57 seats for election are proposed in a boundary review set to finalised in 2023.This is down from 59 in the 2019 election.[2]

The dates for these opinion polls range from the 2019 general election on 12 December to the present day.
The Next General election must take place by January 2025 as per provisions of the Dissolution and Calling of Parliament Act 2022, the next general election . The Act ensures that, if it has not already been dissolved at the request of the prime minister, Parliament automatically dissolves on 17 December 2024, polling occurs no more than 25 working days (allowing for Public Holidays).[4]
