2014 Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction election

Incumbent Republican Superintendent of Public Instruction John Huppenthal ran for re-election to a second term in office. Huppenthal faced down calls for him to resign or withdraw from the race after it was revealed that he made pseudonymous blog posts that attacked welfare recipients, Planned Parenthood and Spanish-language media.[1] Huppenthal lost to Diane Douglas in the primary who then beat David Garcia by just over a percentage point.
