3 Years on a Rock Deck (Japanese: いわのうえにも３ねんデッキ) is played by Gene. Defeating Gene in a 6 prize card match grants the player the Kabuto Coin. Additional prizes upon any victory are one Island of Fossil booster pack and one Beginning Pokémon booster pack. Players also have access to this deck in Auto Deck Machine 1.

At the start of the game, Gene was approached by GR1 when the player arrives, and unlike most of the other Club Masters, Gene was able to defeat GR1 and successfully defend the Rock Club. Players are required to battle Gene in order to be able to challenge GR1 at the Fighting Club.
