Dark Gem
The Dark Gem (Japanese: あくのジュエル Evil Jewel) is a type of held item introduced in Generation V. It is one of the Gems and is an unobtainable held item in Generation VI onwards.

In the core series games
Generation V
It increases the power of the holder's first Dark-type move by 50%, and is consumed after use.
Fling will fail if the user is holding a Dark Gem.
Generation VI onward
It increases the power of the holder's first Dark-type move by 30%, and is consumed after use.
