Inheritance (Edvard Munch)
Inheritance (1897-1899) is an oil painting on canvas by Norwegian painter Edvard Munch. It depicts a mother with her baby, who is affected by congenital syphilis. Munch completed the work after visiting the Hôpital Saint-Louis in Paris in the mid-1890s.[1][2][3][4]
