Gathorne Gathorne-Hardy, 3rd Earl of Cranbrook
Gathorne Gathorne-Hardy, 3rd Earl of Cranbrook (18 December 1870 – 23 December 1915), styled as Lord Medway between 1906 and 1911, was a British peer.

Life
Gathorne-Hardy was born in 1870, the son of John Stewart Gathorne-Hardy, 2nd Earl of Cranbrook, by his wife Cicely Marguerite Wilhelmina née Ridgway.[1] He served He was a captain in the 2nd Volunteer Battalion, The Buffs, and was a deputy lieutenant (DL) and justice of the peace (JP) for Kent. Gathorne-Hardy succeeded his father in 1906 as Earl of Cranbrook and Viscount Cranbrook.
He married Lady Dorothy Montagu Boyle (1879–1968), the daughter of the 7th Earl of Glasgow, on 25 April 1899 at Holy Trinity, Sloane Street.[1] With his wife, Cranbrook had five children: John David Gathorne-Hardy (who succeeded to the earldom); socialites, Hon. Ralph Edward Gathorne-Hardy and Hon. Robert Gathorne-Hardy; Royal navy surgeon, Hon. Anthony Gathorne-Hardy and author, Lady Anne Gathorne-Hardy.[2][3]
Cranbrook died during the First World War, on 23 December 1915, aged 45. He was succeeded by his son John.
