Trapinch's nest is a sloped, bowl-like pit dug in sand. This Pokémon patiently waits for prey to tumble down the pit. Its giant jaws have enough strength to crush even boulders.

The Japanese names of Sand Pit and Irongrip, respectively, are those of Sand Tomb and Vice Grip, which are both moves in the Pokémon games. Trapinch can learn Sand Tomb, but not Vice Grip. This card's e-Reader Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Ruby.
