Release information
This card was included as both a Regular card and a Full Art Secret card in the Battle Styles expansion, first released in the Japanese Single Strike Master expansion. The Regular print features artwork by Ryota Murayama, while the Secret print features artwork by PLANETA Mochizuki. A SWSH Black Star Promotional print of this card was one of the Prerelease promos for Battle Styles with different artwork by Uta, available in the Battle Styles Build & Battle Box. This print was subsequently released in the Japanese Gengar VMAX High-Class Deck. The Battle Styles Regular print was reprinted in the Japanese VMAX Climax subset alongside a Secret Full Art print with artwork by NC Empire. The Battle Styles Regular print was reprinted again in the Japanese Start Deck 100 as a Non Holofoil card.

Origin
This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Moon. The Battle Styles Secret print features the Shiny version of Houndoom. Grimsley is featured in the VMAX Climax Full Art print's illustration, who uses a Houndoom when challenged to a rematch in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2.
