History

In the beginning of the manga, she and her Trainer Haruka had just moved to a new town, close to the setting of Magical Pokémon Journey. She quickly meets and becomes friends with Pikachu and Clefairy, and then meets Poochyena, with whom she winds up arguing frequently.

Soon after that, she meets Mightyena, Poochyena's older brother, who she falls in love with.

In CCP09, she enters a Cuteness Contest and competes against a Plusle and a Minun, a duo that regularly competes in Pokémon Contests. She tries to look cute and energetic to impress the judges and the audience, but her moves are not considered cute enough. She ends up in third place with only two votes.

Personality and characteristics

Torchic dreads the thought of ever evolving. She believes that Combusken and Blaziken are ugly Pokémon and can't stand the thought of not being cute and adorable anymore. She's also afraid that, were she to evolve, Mightyena would be repulsed by her new form.
