This card was released as one of the XY Black Star Promos available in the Evolutions Blisters, released alongside the Evolutions expansion. In Japan, this card was released as a Cracked Ice Holofoil XY-P Promotional card and was available as part of a joint promotion between the Pokémon Card Game, FamilyMart, and Lotte. FamilyMart customers who purchased in any combination of 3 eligible TCG booster packs or Lotte snacks from December 22, 2015 until January 4, 2016 were given this card.
