Galarian Ponyta (Sword & Shield 81)
Galarian Ponyta (Japanese: ガラルポニータ Galarian Ponyta) is a Psychic-type Basic Pokémon card. It was first released as part of the Sword & Shield expansion.

Release information
This card was included in the Sword & Shield expansion with artwork by Saya Tsuruta, first released in the Japanese Shield expansion. It was reprinted, alongside a new print with artwork by Sanosuke Sakuma featuring the Shiny version of Galarian Ponyta, in the Japanese Shiny Star V subset. The Shiny print was later included in the Shining Fates expansion.
Trivia
Initial Japanese prints of this card have ひのうまポケモン, Fire Horse Pokémon, instead of いっかくポケモン, One Horn Pokémon, in the flavor text below the illustration, the category of regular Ponyta. This error was addressed in an apology statement uploaded to the official Japanese Pokémon Card website on December 2, 2019 before the general release of the Sword and Shield expansions. Subsequent print runs of this card featured the correct category. The same error was also present on initial copies of Galarian Rapidash.[1]
Origin
This card features the Galarian regional form of Ponyta. Psy Bolt's Japanese name is that of Confusion, a move in the Pokémon games that Galarian Ponyta can learn. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Shield. The Shining Fates print features the Shiny version of Galarian Ponyta.
