This card was released as one of the BW Black Star Promotional cards on May 29, 2013 in the Team Plasma Box. A Jumbo print of the card was also included. The Japanese print was released in the Team Plasma Battle Gift Set.

Hide in Shadows is an attack that first appeared on Gengar from Expedition Base Set. Dark Hole's Japanese name is that of Dark Void, a move in the Pokémon games that Darkrai can learn. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Black 2 and White 2.
